MEDALS THROUGH THE YEARS
Coastal Race Productions started in 2014 with Run Sunset Beach with the goal to put on great fun races in a town we’d grown to love. We wanted to provide participants shirts and big finisher medals for everyone! Our goals evolved as races grew but one thing has always stayed true – flashy BLING and #BigAssMedals are something we’ve been known for! 2024 Race Medals
The BAM series was reduced to 3 races (removing Holden Beach) and showcases a night time mythical theme. We re-themed the North Myrtle Beach race to the Sham Rock N’ Run and hosted an all-new Halloween Hustle 5K/10K in Conway. We hosted 8 events and 28 races.
2023 Race Medals
Our 10 year anniversary! We passed 75,000 runners in May and our BAM race medal theme was surfboards and sandals. We hosted the 40th annual Winter Run and a total of 8 events with 24 races this year – surpassing 200+ lifetime races.
2022 Race Medals
The BAM race series had 3D UV printed sea creatures this year. We took over management of the oldest race in the Grand Strand – the Winter Run and we launched an all new event call the North Myrtle Beach Sunglasses Half (later to be renamed the Sham Rock N Run) the was our last year for the Freedom 5K and our last year hosting the Wilmington Race (sold to another event management company). We hosted 10 events and 28 races this year!
2021 Race Medals
We surpassed 50,000 runners this year hosting 9 events and 24 races bouncing back strong from the pandemic. We launched a new Freedom 5K and JoJo started a new program called “First Strides” – later renamed to “SheMoves”. Our BAM race series included amazing 3D Lockets!
2020 Race Medals
We hosted 2 events prior to COVID-19 and launched virtual events through the year. We had a suncatcher theme for our BAM race series. Including virtuals, we managed 10 events and 25 races this year – and most importantly, we kept people moving in a positive direction through a tough time.
2019 Race Medals
We attempted to expand our BAM series but opted to keep it at 4 races. We offered a 5th “virtual only” event with the addition of Surf City and unique moving pirate themed medals. We took over management of the BFF Pink Ribbon Run this year and managed our 100th race.
2018 Race Medals
This was the year we had huge 3D mosaic medals for the BAM series and launched an all new Wilmington Half Marathon. We hosted 7 events and 20 different races!
2017 Race Medals
This was the year of the HUGE “flava-flave” style circular connecting BAM medals! We had 4 events in our “Holiday Hustle” series and 19 total races. We also launched our new marathon in Oak Island this year.
2016 Race Medals
We branded our race series as the “Big Ass Medal” race series and added Oak Island to the series. Adding in a Shallotte Day 1 Run we had 6 events and 14 races this year. We hosted our first event with over 1,000 participants this year!
2015 Race Medals
We coined our series as offering the “Largest Race Series Medals in the World”! We helped a couple of local non-profits with managing their races and hosted 6 events with 16 races.
2014 Race Medals
We started with Run Sunset Beach in May 2014 and had 500 finishers. We had so much fun and said “let’s do it again” so we launched Run Ocean Isle and Run Holden Beach as well as hosting a fun little race and a winery.
